Canyon Elementary School receives $1,000 grant from the company as part of award

Spanish Fork, UT, October 22, 2008 -  Angie Perkins, a teacher at Canyon Elementary School in Spanish Fork, was recently named local Teacher of the Year by the Provo Sam's Club.  The award was given as part of Wal-Mart's 13th annual Teacher of the Year program!  Perkins, received a $1,000 grant for Canyon Elementary School, a $100 gift card to buy supplies for her classroom, and a personalized certificate.

The Ken Garff Road to Success is Expanding!  Starting it's first year with 50 pilot schools, next year the program will include 220+ schools.  The Road to Success Program is a literacy initiative taken on by several community leaders, including Ken Garff, Zions Bank, American Family Insurance, KSL 5, KSL Radio, FM 100, Arrow 103.5, Utah Scholars, Utah Educational Savings Plan, and the Utah Blaze.
